Shumard Oak
Sholom Park opened its gates to the public for the first time on Friday, October 17th, 2014. Fifteen years later, Sidney and Ina Colen’s vision of a park, designed as a place to find inner peace is still thriving. Inspired by Boston Gardens, Sholom Park is more than plant life and paved walkways. It’s an energy and a feeling to be shared with others. It’s a place for self-reflection and meditation. It’s a park where memories are made, special occasions are celebrated, couples become one and families join together for an afternoon of fun. Sholom Park continues to evolve. It’s become the host of several educational experience and fun family friendly events but it is still a park where guest of all ages can visit and discover their own interpretation of peace.
On Friday, October 11th, 2019 the Shumard Tree was planted to commemorate the 15-year anniversary of Sholom Park. The tree planting ceremony was done in honor of Sidney and Ina Colen whose vision made this beautiful park possible.
